The Central Park Zoo moved in some big cats Thursday for its newest exhibit.

The Manhattan habitat now houses three endangered snow leopards, who are among only a few thousand in the world. It's the first major exhibit at the zoo since it opened more than 20 years ago.

"We are very excited about allowing these cats to be seen by the public in Manhattan and the five boroughs by letting them really be ambassadors for this endangered spices which is so critically endangered in the wild," said Central Park Zoo Director Jeff Sailer.

"I thought it was amazing and they acted so proud and they looked so big and made themselves look so elegant and everything, it was just amazing," said one young zoo goer.

Officials hope the female cub will produce cubs to help bolster the snow leopard population.
