When I left the newsroom after last night's show, I walked past a half-dozen cars blasting Michael Jackson. On Twitter, a friend said she heard his music playing in several apartments on her short walk from the elevator to her door. Tributes are being held in major cities all over the world. You can like or dislike his music, agree or disagree with his behavior, but there is no denying Michael Jackson's impact worldwide.
Tributes to the late Michael Jackson are on display from Harlem to Hollywood. Fans of the entertainer are buying his music, singing his songs and remembering the King of Pop in a variety of ways.
In Los Angeles, an autopsy was conducted today to determine the cause of death. Results won't be expected for weeks. Authorities also want to speak with one of Jackson's doctors about his use of prescription painkillers.
How are you remembering Michael Jackson? What tributes have you seen around town? What questions do you have about his death?
Send us your thoughts using the link above.
First Michael was a very talented individual, but as we know from the replaying of his songs all day, that his success was two decades ago, he was on the skids, past his prime yet hoping to make a comeback. There are performers such as Elton John and Bernie Taupin who have had decades long success.
We also know of the demands placed upon a young child far too soon that left him stunted emotionally, and frozen in time as a young boy. It is no small wonder then that he found it acceptable to sleep in the same bed with young boys while he was a physically grown adult male. It is also no small wonder that much of his pleasures were child like in nature.
Sadly, like most celebrities, he was coddled instead of having his problems addressed. What did Diana Ross, Liz Taylor, Jesse Jackson do to confront their friend? Others chose to feed off of Michael as is the case surrounding celebrities.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ENABLERS AND YES MEN RUN THE SHOW. SECRETS KILL. THE ACTIONS OF THE ATTENDING DOCTOR SHOW AN ALLEGED DISREGARD FOR THE PATIENT AND MORE LIKELY AN ATTEMPT TO ALLEGEDLY HIDE ANY WRONGDOING. I WOULDN'T LET THAT DOCTOR ANESTHETISE MY CAT.

He was a talented man, but doesn't any one remember that he is a sick man. "Allegedly." Sorry but he liked little boys we all know and feel it. Forgetting about it would be like forgetting catholic priests like little boys too.

John-
it was 1970, and I as a army recruit in Ft. Jackson heard Ill be there which was a musical departure for him, (pre-thriller etc.) the song became our song my first wife & mine; anyhow hell be missed and we ought to ask ourselves why our psychopathological culture destroys so-called icons: Elvis, Jim Morrison, Garland, Marilyn. The guy was weird and had issues but so does our society.

Hi John,
It is nice that they are all buying his albums and cd's. The tributes are very touching. They should release the 25th Motown Anniversary tape that we all watched in awe and some of the other performers on the tape are Adam Ant, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye just to name a few, it was outstanding.
Supposedly the doctor lived in the rented house with him and they have confiscated his car. The same drugs were found just like Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger and now Michael and that is why the Homicide Squad was sent to the house to gather evidence so that they won't have to back track like they did with the Anna Nicole Smith case.
Thank You John

The family should produce a memorial concert staring all the Jacksons. use Michael's Image so they can and he can perform as a family. It should take place in Central Park and be beamed around the world via internet and television. Then the family should take the tour on the road to pay off Michael's debt.
Neverland should be turned into a shrine like Presely Gace Mansion. No matter what these 2 men did personally, it will all be about their music.

It is a sad reality that many of our celebrities are going through. It really chilling reality, but I hope this example and this sad life lost could open the eyes of other artists who may be going through the same. RIP MJ and his loved ones

I walked into a Barnes & Noble today. When I went into the music/DVD section, lo and behold! the Thriller album was playing. I honestly don't remember hearing it playing on a store PA since the early 80s. It made me feel very nostalgic. I thought it was a nice tribute.

I enjoy Michael Jackson's music and that is what he will be remembered for. My sympathy goes out to his family. Sometimes he really did weird things and I think he did it to keep himself in the limelight, for the attention so people wouldn't forget about him. However, he did some bad things that made me not like him anymore. His death is very shocking news and we lost a true legend.

I will remember Michael Jackson with his scandal issues, because that's the most popular thing I heard. Here in my town, his music is played while people are driving his Car. My question about his death is the following....
Can steroids be one of the cases of a heart failure other then medications or when you mix both?

at abt 10PM last nite students in the village near NYU were playing the music and dancing in the street, people of all ages, all kinds, were joining in, and suddenly the cops drove up, abt 6 cars, sirens and lights flashing and told us all to keep moving, break it up, keep out of it!.

Bad Rap? When you pay 20 million dollars in hush money to a 12 year old who claims to have been molested, thats pretty much a guilty verdict.

Hello names volwin from brookyln new york and I would also love micheal jackson he is and inspiration to us all
My name is George from Bronx NY and as everyone is talking about Michael Jackson's death, i wish people would leave him alone that way he wouldn't be that stressed out with this nonsense with sexual association with children. The media says that Michael has died due to drugs. If you look at Michael the way most of his fans do, do you think that he is the kind of person to use drugs? I wish he would pass the way he did, and Michael... we love you, and we will see you again in the future. You were like a brother to most of us, and to others, role model, father like, the relative we dreamed of having in our family. Love you and we'll meet in God's Valley of Angels
Growing up I always listened to michael and I'm 29 and haven't stop from thriller to his latest release with akon , mike is truely the best... my heart goes out to his family.. the one thing mike always wanted was to have a life , well being he didn't have much while he was here I feel fans should give it to him now and let him rome free with his family and give them their space...
Mike much love r.I.p you shall be missed

MJ was an exceptional perform who brought more people together through his music and art. Whatever he might have done wrong, and nothing is proved, should be left alone now. Let's just look at the good the performer did.
How come no newscast mentions anything about his work: We are the world? That is a perfect representation of him and his life.
Very surprised that the "doctor" is nowhere to be found that sounds like he did something wrong.

I am really disturbed by both the media and people being interviewed bringing up all the past allegations about Michael at this time. As most of us know, when a loved one is lost that is the time to remember them fondly. Michael Jackson has impacted the world as very few people have. Whatever issues he had or didn't have, we do not have the right to judge him. May God rest his soul and may he be remembered for the phenominal person and entertainer that he was.. As I stated before, he will be sorely missed. We love you, Michael!

I have been a fan of Michael Jackson for 40 years. I remember seeing him on The Ed Sullivan Show when I was 9 years old. I remember in 1973 going with my sister and my grandmother to Madison Square Garden and I remember telling the cab driver "Madison Square Garden and step on it!"
Supporting Michael Jackson got me fired from Hill & Knowlton public relations agency here in New York City. Michael had a press conference at a hangar at JFK and he was sending food over to Africa. I got assigned to him and I remember he would only drink Royal Canadian water and I searched all over this town trying to find it for Michael. He arrived and what startled me was how tall he was and how thin he was. And he had the biggest hands I had ever seen. I introduced myself and he did not talk the way he would in front of cameras and on television. He talked regular and it blew me away. We went over the itinerary and he was telling me what he wanted and I was realized how smart this man truly was. Michael Jackson was not only the King of Pop but also the King of Media. He knew he could not just be a great singer, he had to add the mystery and the weirdness in order to stay in the papers and magazines. Michael Jackson was far from a stupid man. He was brilliant. The child molestation scandal hit and the agency dropped Michael via the Pepsi affiliation with the agency. I was devastated because all of a sudden all the photos Michael took with the staff was off their desks. They talked about Michael like a dog. I stated my feelings and said I did not believe any of it and was promptly fired for supporting Michael. I felt proud because I had never stood up for anything I believed in until that moment. I wrote Michael and told him and he contacted me a few months later and thanked me and that meant more to me than anyone will ever know.
Now Our King has gone to meet The King and I have sat here and cried, laughed, smiled and sang his songs. Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer in the world. We will never see another international icon like this again. Michael Jackson gave unselfishly and without doubts or fears. Michael Jackson loved children and would have never harmed any of them.
I love Michael Jackson and no one will ever make me feel otherwise. I feel so much pain for his mother, because no mother wants to bury their own child. I feel sympathy for the rest of his family, friends and fans worldwide. We have lost someone close to our hearts.
RIP my King.

I am only 19 years old and have loved michael jackson since i was a little girl. Despite the trouble he has had in the past few years it is evident that there never has been and never will be anyone like him. i cried when i heard the news. i have been listening to his songs non stop since then and at this time i refuse to think about the bad and instead want to remember him as the one of the greatest entertainers to ever walk the earth.

Michael to me was a brother figure growing up listening to him all the time. He was very electrifying, who's not going to like him or back then the Jackson's or Jackson 5? His voice was incredible, on the radio station, lite FM when I heard they were honoring his music I already knew he'd passed away. I still can't believe he is gone.
May God receive him and I thank him for giving us his musical gift and years of listening and dancing pleasures for future generations to come. No popular performer can come close to him nor will be venerated globally like him. He was a humanitarian; he covered for some funeral services for David Ruffin of the Temptations because Ruffin was his musical influence.
Before 1993, to me he was perfect. After 1993, the media started to crucify him big time and he had serious allegations of what we already know; now it's all over. His fans and me will never stop loving him or will they ever stop loving his music, for his musical legacy shall never die.

Well I remember when my son Jimmie was only 12 years old, while he was with the Boys Choir of Harlem he met Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy, during a music video that they did. I could not wait until my son got home, to tell me about meeting Michael Jackson. He said that Michael was nice, but he act like a very young kid and that he stayed closer to Eddie Murphy because he was more his age than Michael. I would also like to pray for Michael and his family. I am going to remember Michael as the King of Pop. I hope and pray that people would not dwell on the negative but the positive. Let the one who has never sin cast the first stone. Michael Jackson you are now moon walking at those pearly Gates in Heaven. tell all your haters to Beat It.
