A 14-foot cross made of steel from the World Trade Center now stands near the field where United Flight 93 crashed on September 11th, 2001.
The two-ton cross was dedicated yesterday in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It sits on a concrete base shaped like the Pentagon.
The cross arrived Saturday, along with many current and retired New York City firefighters.
The cross is not part of the official Flight 93 National Memorial. That memorial is being built in phases and is expected to be about 40 percent complete by 2011.
