Bloomingdale's in the Upper East Side recently hosted a book party for the publication of "Park Avenue Potluck: Celebrations," which is co-authored by the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering and New York Times food columnist Florence Fabricant.

"We have 'Park Avenue Potluck: Celebrations,' which is divided into various occasions throughout the year, with more emphasis on the kinds of entertaining tips that the members of the Society are able to contribute," said Fabricant. "To help readers plan for special occasions, whether it's Halloween or Christmas or Valentine's Day or Mother's Day or whatever and the recipes are grouped according to these various holidays."

The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering raises money to support the city hospital of the same name.

"Whose mission it to raise funds support patient care and raise funds for research, education and patient care projects at Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer center," said Heather Leeds, the society's president.

The book focuses on some of the biggest holidays, like the Fourth of July, Christmas and Halloween.

Coco Kopelman, a member of the society, set an elaborate table for Halloween, seen above.

"Orange, black, it's not a Princeton game that we're celebrating, but it's Halloween," said Kopelman. "A lot of M&Ms. Basically, we have some guests coming: Count Dracula, Vampyra, but it's all in the spirit of celebrating our new cookbook."

Co-author Muffie Potter Aston contributed tips on being a good hostess.

"One of them is if you have an inebriated guest at your party, you should try your best to distract everyone and never pay too much attention," said Aston. "Just let it fly and let it go by the wayside."

Who knew these society ladies even knew how to cook?
