Midday 5 Train Service To Extend To Brooklyn

Midday subway riders can now take the 5 train to Brooklyn.
Weekday service between roughly 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. will now extend past Manhattan's Bowling Green Station.
Straphangers can take the 5 all the way to Brooklyn College-Flatbush Avenue.
After morning rush hour, the 5 train used to stop at Manhattan's Bowling Green station forcing riders onto the 4 or the 6 trains, causing huge delays.
Transit officials say the extension will make for a smoother ride for all commuters.
The move was the result of a successful pilot program conducted in the spring.
