An advocacy group claims racial and ethnic disparities will be compounded by the state's executive budget.
The group Citizen Action released a report today which charges that the state budget fails to promote equity among minorities in several areas, including education, health care, human services and criminal and juvenile justice.
The report says some proposals in the budget would reduce disparities, but maintains the majority of the proposal would negatively impact social and economic differences.
Citizen Action argues in favor of Fair Share Tax Reform, which asks for an income-tax increase on the wealthiest New Yorkers in order to reduce the spending cuts.
