The city announced yesterday a $25,000 settlement with a Brooklyn man who charged he was a victim of racial profiling.

Jangir Sultan sued the New York City Police Department three months ago, claiming he was searched 21 times since the NYPD instituted its bag search policy in 2005.

The NYPD says the checks are conducted without regard to ethnicity or race.

The settlement did not include Sultan's request for changes to the program.
